About Jill

Jill Petracek (Puh-traw-check) is a star-sign photographer, moon-sign videographer, on the cusp of Director of Photography in Los Angeles, CA.

She has BFAs in Graphic Design and Studio Art from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Her photos have appeared in The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, and The Washington Post. She’s also worked for Netflix Is A Joke, DropoutTV, and The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

She has DP’d Eden Sher’s I Was on a Sitcom and the proof of concept Greatest Treasure in the World.

In comedy, Jill loves to capture backstage moments at Dynasty Typewriter, the Elysian, UCB Theater LA, and Largo at the Coronet. She also hosts a small live show, The Warm Room at DSP Studios.

In her everyday life, she bakes cookies and eats a lot of dough in the mornings, goes for walks in the evenings, and does her very best to read real books from the library before going to bed.
